Last year I decided that we would look for a peds dentistry and take them out of family dentistry. This was 100% the best choice for our kids! For the oldest who has anxiety from questionable care and refused to go for care at our old office to now just double checking to make sure that we are going to the peds office for his appointments now. It was also a great experience for the youngest who had never been into a dentist before at that time. We had exceptional care each and every visit and with every interaction. I can say that I was not at all worried one bit about my kids having to be taken to the office for care by a friend for a 6month appointment. Had we still been with our old office there is absolutely no way that this would have been possible due to my child’s response to care from the old provider. If you want great & quality care, I recommend here!

We got a referral to this location about an hour away from home (about 5 mins from her regular dentist’s office) after a rather uneasy initial encounter with her regular dentist (and they’re generally good). My 7 y/o daughter really connected with Dr. Van & her hygienist. She instantly fell in love with this place, and has been begging us to take her there for every dental appointment ever since. They have quite a way of putting kids at ease ahead of procedures. Excellent folks!

We would highly recommend Kalamazoo pediatric dentistry to anyone looking for a dentist for their children. The newly renovated building is warm and inviting, the staff is always smiling, and Dr. Van makes a special effort to connect with our kids on each visit. One of my favorite things is that if your child ever has serious work done, you can expect to get a follow up call from Dr. Van sometime after the treatment. He always makes sure the child (and the parents) are doing ok and if there are any questions that can be answered.

Absolutely phenomenal experience with Dr. van Hofwegen & his staff. The facility is beautiful, and so kid-friendly. Everyone was kind, gentle, and accommodating, making it a positive experience for our whole family. Even my son, who is fearful of medical offices, enjoyed the visit so much that he did not want to leave. The fantastic play areas had a lot to do with that, I think!
